The University of Alabama men's cross country team traveled to South Bend, Indiana and battled chilly temperatures and wet weather and came away with a seventh place finish at the 48th Annual Notre Dame Invitational.
Kevin McDonough paced the Tide with a 13th place finish and a time of 24:57. Tyler Stanfield was the second Bama runner to cross the finish line, doing so in 18th place with a time of 25:08.
Josphat Waweru came in 52nd for Bama (25:38), followed by Peter Etoot in 62nd place (25:47) and Gaiting Kara in 103rd with a time of 26:11.
The host school, Notre Dame, won the meet with 76 points while Alabama combined for 248 points.
The Crimson Tide will be in action next weekend as the team travels across the state to compete in the Auburn Invitational on Saturday, October 11. The meet will serve as a bit of a practice run for some of the teams involved as the NCAA Regional Championships will be held at the same Auburn course in November.
