After a successful season and home opener, the Alabama Swimming and Diving teams take their act on the road, facing Delta State, Louisiana-Monroe and Drury College in Cleveland, Miss. Friday (Oct. 31) at 5 p.m.
The Crimson Tide opened the 2003-04 season by winning its season, home and Southeastern Conference opener against LSU in convincing fashion. First year Alabama head coach Eric McIlquham now takes his squads out on the road and it being Halloween, he hopes that the Tide is the one dealing out the tricks and picking up the treats.
"This will be a good way for us to get our feet wet in terms of road meets," McIlquham said. "It will especially be a good experience for our rookies."
The Tide women will be looking for revenge against Louisiana-Monroe. Last season Alabama sent a majority of its women's squad to the SMU Classic, leaving a contingent of eight athletes to face the Lady Indians. Louisiana-Monroe took full advantage beating the Tide for the first time ever while the Tide men came away with a convincing win. Both the Tide men and women beat Delta State last season.
