The Tide duo was down 7-4 at one point in the match, and fought off two Vanderbilt match points in the comeback effort.
"We started off slowly, but we were able to stay right in there with them," Gostek said. "We were a little down at first got pumped up and played the big points well. We put everything together toward the end and picked each other up."
Singles play did not go as well for the Crimson Tide in day two, as Mitchell lost a tough three-set match to Auburn's Andrew Colombo, and Gostek fell to Strahinja Bubosic in two sets.
