Men's Cross Country Places Third at Chili Pepper Invitational

The Tide got three top 20 finishes from Kevin McDonough, Tyler Stanfield and Josphat Waweru while Peter Etoot posted a 45th place finish and Gaiting Kara a 62nd place finish out of 263 runners en route to third place out of 33 teams.
In Bama's first 10k race of the season, McDonough posted a time of 30:17.23, Stanfield a time of 30:23.76 and Waweru a time of 30:39.51. Etoot finished with a time of 31:46.24.
The University of Arkansas was the top team with 78 points with Oklahoma University coming in second with 130 points. The Tide followed in third with 154 points.
The meet was the Tide's final tune-up before the post-season takes hold as the Tide will return to action at the 2003 SEC Cross Country Championships being held in Athens, Georgia on Monday, November 3.
