Men's and Women's Tennis Hold Annual Awards Banquet

The University of Alabama men’s and women’s tennis teams held their annual banquet on Thursday in honor of both teams’ seasons.
The men’s team gave out four awards. Junior Brad Freidman won the Most Improved Player Award.
Sophomore Chris Gostek was the winner of the 110% Award.
Sophomore Christian Brodersen brought home the Academic Achievement Award. He also was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Brodersen is 15-3 on the year, and is undefeated in the SEC with a record of 9-0.
The men’s team is ranked 18th in the country. They are currently 15-7, 7-5 in the SEC. The Tide now waits for the NCAA Tournament team selections to be announced on May 2nd.
The women’s team is having another good year with a 12-10 record overall and 3-9 in the SEC. The 43rd ranked Crimson Tide awaits the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field on May 2, at 6 p.m. Last season, Alabama finished the year 16-10 which included a trip to the NCAA Regionals in Durham, North Carolina. Alabama has a 9-1 record against non-conference opponents this season.
Four awards were voted on by the team and the coaching staff.
Senior Weyli Chang won the Most Improved Award at the banquet. Chang also won the MVP Award.
Junior Stefanie Leung was the winner of the 110% Award. While senior Jenny Ketchum won the team’s X-Factor Award.
