Swimming and Diving Signs Four to Letters of Intent

Head coach Don Wagner inked Ashley Messmore, Amanda Gilbert, Tara Theilemann and Kenzie Robins in the early signing period.
"This is a very strong group of student-athletes," Wagner said, "and I think they will go a long way toward helping us fill some holes in our roster. We're very excited about the potential that they have."
Messmore, a native of Clearwater, Fla., is a two-year All-American in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. She swims for TBAY Aquatics under Rich Rogers. She also competes for Countryside High School under Diana Jones. She was MVP of her high school squad as a junior and captain this year.
Gilbert hails from Madison, NJ where she attends Madison High School. A senior national championship competitor, Gilbert was All-County and All-Area in 1999 and 2000. She has also been MVP of her club team. She competes for Jim Wood at Berkeley Aquatic Club.
Thielemann is a 2002 All-American and state champion in the 200 freestyle and an All-American in the 100 freestyle. She is part of the Nevada state record holding 200 freestyle relay. The Carson City, Nevada native is also an Academic All-American. She competes for Jim Puleo at Carson Tigersharks swim club.
Robins currently competes for Paul Silvers at Marlins of Raleigh. She competed for former Alabama All-American Dustin McDaniels through her junior year at Bull City where she was the club's MVP for three years. She also swims for Riverside High School and was their MVP for the past two years. The Durham, NC native is a member of the National Honor Society.
