TUSCALOOSA -The Alabama women's basketball team exploded for 102 points in a 52 point victory over Berry College in its preseason exhibition finale.
Junior Manisha Redus led five Tide hoopsters in double figures scoring 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Alabama head coach Rick Moody was pleased with his team's offensive output.
"Obviously, this was the last exhibition game and my desire going in was to give as many people as possible an opportunity to exhibit to me that they are ready to play," Moody said. "So we played a lot of people."
Moody was also pleased with his team's teamwork and effort.
"I like the chemistry of our team and the way they play and work together," Moody said. "Very rarely do I have to ask for effort."
For the game the Crimson Tide shot 57 percent from the field, including a blistering 63 percent in the first half, while limiting Berry to just 34 percent.
Alabama was also solid beyond the arc hitting 46 percent of its three-point shots (12-for-26).
