Givan Has Impressive Weekend in Atlanta

Senior Tom Givan represented Alabama Tennis at the Georgia Tech Fall Classic with two impressive wins on the first day.
The Atlanta native defeated Adam Sheperd of Georgia Perimeter 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2) and Winthrop’s Cezar Rodrigo 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in the first and second rounds of “B” draw.
“I am very pleased with Tom’s (Givan) performance,” said Alabama assistant head coach Mario Rincon.
Head Coach Billy Pate was with Stephen Mitchell and Max Belski at the All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn. On Friday they defeated Mark Dritrich and Simon Rea of Tennessee 8-4.
In the main draw Belski and Mitchell began by defeating Lovre Brajkovic and Vedran Vidovic of Indiana State, 8-1. In the second round they defeated Gabe Coren and Daniel Jung of San Diego State, 8-3. In the quarterfinals they lost Lester Cook and Ante Matijevic of Texas A&M, 8-6.
Max Belski, ranked 30th in singles by the ITA defeated Victor Romero of Tulane Thursday morning in a consolation singles match.
