TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  – The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 1-0, to win the 2017 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional in Rhoads Stadium Sunday. With the victory, the Crimson Tide advances to next week's NCAA Super Regional in Gainesville, Fla., to face No. 1 seed Florida.
Alabama's second hitter of the game, Chandler Dare, belted a single down the right-field line, and then raced home on a Marisa Runyon double to left center field, just beating the tag. The second at-bat of the game closed out the scoring, as three of the nation's best pitchers clamped down.
Junior Sydney Littlejohn took the win for the Tide, going to 17-8 on the season, while junior Alexis Osorio grabbed her fourth save of the year. Senior Gopher Sara Groenewegen ended her season with a 31-4 record.
With the win, Alabama remains the only team to advance to every Super Regional since the format's inception in 2005.
