The Alabama volleyball team is traveling to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to compete against Middle Tennessee this Wednesday night in the Crimson Tide’s final scrimmage of the spring. Alabama will be looking to rebound from rough day last Saturday at Georgia Tech.
Alabama head coach Judy Green was pleased with the way her squad rebounded in practice this week, especially Monday.
“We had a really good day of practice on Monday,” Green said. “I see us as a team getting better in spurts. Our individual players are also improving different areas of their games, but I really want to see improvement in our team play. I feel like are kids are working hard at it.”
The Blue Raiders should provide the Tide with tough competition. MTSU posted a 28-4 last season and have 15 players on their roster for the spring.
“It will be good to see if we step up tomorrow to compete,” Green said. “I’m expecting a strong Middle Tennessee team that accomplished some good things last year. I think it will be a really tough challenge for our team, which is what we need.”
Green has one goal for her team as they conclude their spring exhibition season.
“I just want to see us compete hard as a team,” Green said. “The score doesn’t matter in the spring. The biggest issue for us is to compete hard as a team. This is our last opportunity to compete this spring and we want to make the most of our opportunity.”
After the scrimmage, the Tide will have two more weeks of practice before traveling to Europe to compete in Hungary, Slovenia and the Czech Republic from May 20 to May 31.
