
Grant Stuckey and Alexey Nesterov Complete Day One of Samford Fall Invite

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Freshman Grant Stuckey and sophomore Alexey Nesterov finished up their first day of action in the Samford Fall Invite in Birmingham, Ala., on Friday.
Nesterov took care of Justin Ghavami of Samford in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, and will take on Clement Marzol of South Alabama tomorrow morning.
Stuckey fell to Eduardo Lourido of Samford, 6-2, 6-0. The Charlotte, N.C. native will play Olivier Gringas of South Alabama in his second singles match of the invite tomorrow.
In doubles play, Stuckey and Nesterov were defeated by Loic Cloes and Clement Marzol of South Alabama, 6-0, in their first match. The pair will take on Hendrik Inno and Vincent Sterkens of Belmont tomorrow at 9 a.m.
The invite will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m., before concluding on Sunday afternoon. The five-team event includes, Alabama, Belmont, Samford, South Alabama, and UAB.
