Alabama Holds Annual Letter Jacket Ceremony

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – More than 100 University of Alabama student-athletes were honored Monday night in Coleman Coliseum with their letter jackets, emblazoned with the Crimson Tide's script A.
Tide student-athletes are awarded letter jackets after earning their first varsity letter. Â Director of Athletics Bill Battle, who earned an Alabama letter jacket as a football player in the 1960s, welcomed the newest class of letterwinners to the exclusive club.
J.C. Ranelli, the president of the A-Club Alumni Association who played baseball at Alabama, also spoke of the honor and pride that comes with earning a Crimson Tide varsity letter.
